What is the Alice Paul Institute?

API was founded in 1984 with a simple goal: to continue the work of Alice Paul. Alice Paul fought for gender equality and helped women get the right to vote, and the people at API believe her work isn’t yet finished.

Alice Paul was a suffragist and political strategist who had a deep and immeasurable impact on history. She helped women win the right to vote back in the 1920s. In 1923, she wrote the original Equal Rights Amendment, a document that is still incredibly important today.

As her fight is still alive today, educating people about the work she did inspires the next generation to continue it.
