AcuraWatchâ„¢ Technology

AcuraWatchAcuraWatchâ„¢ is a suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies. These features can act as a second pair of eyes, detecting things you might miss on the road and alerting you to take action. Collectively, AcuraWatchâ„¢ can work to:

  • Improve awareness
  • Assist with avoidance
  • Help mitigate impact

Plus, this suite comes standard on all  Acura models. From the ILX and TLX to the RDX and MDX, you can rest assured that these safety options will help protect you and everyone else on board.

Features Included in AcuraWatchâ„¢

AcuraWatchWithin the AcuraWatch™ suite, you’ll find the following features standard on every Acura sedan and SUV:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™—This system can detect if you’re getting too close to a car or other object. It’ll warn you to hit the brakes but can also do so automatically if you don’t react fast enough.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control—ACC keeps a set speed, along with a safe following distance from the car in front of you. If traffic ahead begins to slow down, the system can slow your car down to maintain that pre-set distance.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System—If you start to steer out of your lane without using a turn signal, the system will send a visual and audio alert. It can then gently apply steering torque to help guide the car back to the center of your lane.

Some Acura models also feature Traffic Jam Assist. This is especially useful to have in stop-and-go city traffic. It’s designed to keep you in the center of your lane and a safe distance from the car in front of you. Plus, it can work at various speeds or from a complete stop to help reduce driver fatigue.

Other Driver-Assistive Technologies

AcuraWatchThere are many other advanced features that you can find in various Acura vehicles to help keep you safe.

One of them is the Blind Spot Information System. When you signal to change lanes, there may be a car in your blind spot. If so, a light indicator will appear on the corresponding side’s windshield pillar. When the light goes away, you’ll know the coast is clear.

There’s also an available Rear Cross Traffic Monitor that works with a Multi-View Rear Camera. You may start to back out of a driveway or parking spot when a car approaches from either side. In that instance, the system will send an audio warning, along with arrow indicators. When those alerts turn off, you can safely begin driving in reverse again.
