How to Change Acura Key Fob Battery

2023 Acura Integra

Notice your Acura key fob isn’t working when you’re trying to unlock your car’s door lately? Then, you’ll want to know how to get it back up and running again. Let Elite Acura teach you how to replace an Acura key fob battery properly, so you can resume convenient entrances to your vehicle when you’re out and about in Philadelphia. We’ll also tell you the signs you need to look out for to know when an Acura key fob battery replacement is necessary!

Signs You Need to Replace Your Key Fob Battery

If your Acura key fob is only working occasionally, then chances are the battery is dying. However, if you find yourself having to press the lock/unlock buttons multiple times to get it to work properly, then you’ll want to get the battery replaced instead. No worries– this task isn’t as daunting as it sounds! Learn how to change the battery in an Acura key fob below.

How to Change the Battery in an Acura Key Fob

Perform an Acura key fob battery replacement when you follow these simple instructions to get your key fob back in working order:

  1. Make sure you have the proper Acura key fob battery replacement, which is likely a CR2032 button cell battery. If you’re unsure which your key fob takes, you can double check with your owner’s manual or our service team.
  2. Once you have the right battery, press “tab” on your Acura key fob to remove the traditional metal key.
  3. You can then use the metal key to open the outer cover on the Acura’s key.
  4. After it’s open, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the dead battery.
  5. You can then place the new battery in it’s place. Make sure the positive (+) side is up.
  6. Place the fob casing back together and press until you hear a click.
  7. Add the metal key back into the Acura key fob and you’re ready to go!

Once you’re done, give the key fob a try to make sure it works like normal. If you’re still experiencing issues in Cherry Hill and you need help replacing the battery or re-programming the Acura key fob, don’t hesitate to contact our service team or parts center.
