Passenger & Cargo Space
The 2019 Acura MDX and 2019 Honda Pilot are both great SUVs for the daily carpool. Their base trims seat at least seven individuals and have lots of stretching room. In particular, the 2019 Acura MDX has lots of legroom in the first and second rows: 41.4 inches and 38.5 inches, respectively.
The 2019 Honda Pilot has lots of legroom, too. However, with 40.9 inches of front legroom and 38.4 inches of middle legroom, it may not be quite as comfortable for taller passengers (or those who like to stretch out and relax on longer drives).
When you’re driving you and your friends around for a fun night out or a road trip, you’ll need to have room for all their personal belongings as well. The Acura MDX gives you plenty of space to spare, with 90.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row of seats.
The Acura MDX also has 60/40 split second row and 50/50 split third row seatbacks. These configurable seats allow you to fit all sorts of items inside the MDX while still leaving room for a couple of passengers to travel in comfort.
The Honda Pilot, meanwhile, has second and third rows that are 60/40 split. However, when these two rows are folded down, you only end up with 83.9 cubic feet of cargo space to work with. With the smaller cargo area, it’ll be a much tighter fit, particularly if you have a lot of belongings to travel with.
The 2019 Acura MDX and Honda Pilot have comfortable interiors with plenty of amenities. However, the Acura MDX is a luxury vehicle; as such, it has premium materials throughout the cabin. These include standard leather seats, available natural wood accents, and a standard power moonroof.
The Honda Pilot is a nice-looking vehicle, but hard plastic materials prevent it from competing with luxury brands like Acura. Additionally, leather seating and a sunroof are only available in the higher trim levels, while these features come standard in the 2019 Acura MDX.
Each SUV offers similar creature comforts, such as heated/ventilated front seats and heated second-row outboard seats. With these features, everyone can get nice and comfortable, no matter what the weather conditions outside are like.
Heated front seats come standard in the Acura MDX, while they’re an optional feature in the Honda Pilot. Plus, the Acura MDX offers a heated steering wheel as well with several trims, which is only available in the Elite trim of the Honda Pilot.
Whether you’re traveling alone or with a whole crew, you’ll want features that’ll help keep you connected and entertained. Luckily, you’ll find an array of infotainment features in the 2019 Acura MDX and the 2019 Honda Pilot.
For instance, they each come standard with Bluetooth® technology to easily stream audio or make hands-free phone calls. They also offer a rear entertainment system, so your kids can watch movies and television shows while you focus on driving.
Furthermore, the Acura MDX comes standard with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration. Simply plug your phone into the car’s USB port, and your favorite apps will appear on the display screen. You can then listen to your music playlists, send text messages, and get directions without fumbling around with your phone.
The Honda Pilot has available Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ as well. Unfortunately, you have to upgrade to a higher trim level to gain access to these fun entertainment features.
